This collection includes course catalogs for undergraduate and graduate programs as well as summer, evening, and other specialized curricula.
Catalog titles varied throughout the years. In the 1950s, catalogs were published as numbered issues of the Bulletin of the University of Scranton.
Recent catalogs (dated 2008 - present) were downloaded from the University of Scranton website as born digital documents in PDF format.
The University Archives also captures and preserves the web version of the University catalog website as part of the University of Scranton Web Archives collection. The current website (catalog.scranton.edu) has been captured quarterly since September 2012.
University course catalogs dated 1926 - 2007 were digitized in 2009 by Internet Archive as part of the Lyrasis Mass Digitization Collaborative. Each catalog was digitized in JPEG2000 format at 400 dpi, 24-bit color.
Derivative PDFs were prepared for publication in CONTENTdm, in order to speed download times. As a result, some of the photographs in the catalogs may appear blurred. Master images may be downloaded from Internet Archive.
Searchable text was generated via automated optical character recognition (OCR).
