Discourse, a publication sponsored by the University’s Penn-Tau chapter of the Phi Sigma Tau philosophy honors fraternity, has been published yearly since 2008.

The Bonnie W. Oldham Library Research Prize, awarded each spring since 2011, recognizes excellence in undergraduate and graduate student research across all University departments. This collection includes the research projects and essays written by each year’s prize winning students. Application information and selection criteria are available at

Acquisition Information

Born digital publications are submitted to the University Archives by the sponsoring academic department.

Processing Notes

Digital materials submitted in proprietary formats (such as Microsoft Word and Adobe In Design) are converted to PDF for long term preservation.


Print issues of publications are digitized in-house. Digital images are captured in TIFF or JPEG format, at 300 dpi, 24-bit color. Derivative PDFs are prepared for publication and access. Searchable text is generated via automated optical character recognition (OCR).
