Early Grads to
Hold Reunion
A reunion of the members of the
Alumni who attended the college
from September, 1902, until June,
1906, will be held in Hotel Casey on
June eighth. The professors of the
period who taught at that time are
also expected to attend. And among
the professors who are still'living are:
Father P. J. Quinan, S. J., of New
York City; ,Father Denis J. Clukerman.
Pa.; Father Thomas Carmody
of Misercordia College; Father WaIter
A. Gonnan of Carbondale; R. J.
Burke, Esq., of this city; and Richard
J. Beemish, Esq., of Harrisburg, who
was our first football coach.
The annual Activities awards
which are presented to those Seniors
deserving of them were announced
by the College authorities during the
earlier part of this week. These
awards which are given to those
Seniors who have been active on the
Aquinas, the Debating Team, the
Dramatic Society, the Student Council,
and the Art Society will be
awarded to the winners at the Com~
mencement exercises on Sunday, June
eleventh.
, The Aquinas award which is given
to those Senior students who have
been members of the staff for at
least two years will be awarded to
the following Seniors: Rob e r t
O'Brien, former editor of the publieation,
Vincent Kelleher, an associate
editor on O'Brien'S staff, and Joseph
Gallagher, who also was an associate
editor.
The Debating Award which is
given to those Senior members of the
Debating Team who have been on
the winning team in at least two debates
will be awarded to Robert
O'Brien, William Missett, Vincent
Kelleher, and Gerald Friedman.
'The Dramatic Award is given to
those' Seniors who have been active
in its activities and who have appeared
in at least two of its productions.
The recipients for this award
are: Robert O'Brien, Thomas Cary,
James o.'Mara, Paul Gibbons,. William
Missett, and Daniel McCaffrey.
The Student Council award is presented
to the Seniors who were very
'active in governing the students of
the College and who' helped in the
advancement of a,1y student movement
which was for the good of the
college--those who will receive this
award are: William Missett, presi~
dent of the Student Council for the
past year, Thomas Cary, William
Barrett, and John McAndrew.
As a change in the custom of presenting
the Awards to Seniors only,
the Art Society will present awards
to those students from the four
classes in the College who are outstanding
in Art and its development.
Students receiving this award are:
William Vanston, John Maloney,
Nicholas Patrick, and Kenneth
Krantz.
The Aquinas staff wishes to congratulate
those Seniors and underclassmen
who have won the awards
and hope that they may still go on to
further heights in their next step in
life.
