Thesis Submission Instructions

  • Current Honors Students
    • To submit their honors project to the Weinberg Memorial Library, graduating honors students should:

      1. 1. Ensure that the honors program coordinator has at least one paper copy of your thesis, unbound and preferably unstapled, signed by your thesis advisor and readers.
      2. 2. Submit a digital copy of your thesis to the Library. Small files can be emailed to etheses@scranton.edu, while larger files can be submitted by dropping off a clearly labeled CD, DVD, or thumb drive at the Library Circulation Desk. Acceptable file extensions include .doc, .docx, .rtf, or .pdf.
      3. 3. Sign a copy of the Library's Electronic Theses Approval form and drop it off at the Library Circulation Desk.

Any questions on thesis submission may be directed to etheses@scranton.edu.

  • Current Graduate Students
    • The University of Scranton College of Graduate and Continuing Education and the Weinberg Memorial Library require the submission of both print and electronic versions of each masters thesis. The Weinberg Memorial Library will preserve both versions: print theses will be stored in the Library's Special Collections, while electronic theses will be included in the Library's Digital Collections.

After the student's department has read and approved the thesis, students should submit to the Weinberg Memorial Library the following materials:

      1. 1. Two CGCE thesis approval forms, each signed by your research mentor and advisory committee. Forms are available in the College of Continuing and Graduate Education offices.
      2. 2. One printed copy of the completed thesis. Please do not bind or staple.
      3. 3. One digital copy of the completed thesis. Files under 20MB may be submitted via email to etheses@scranton.edu. Larger files may be submitted on CD, DVD, or thumb drive. Acceptable file extensions include .doc, .docx, .rtf, or .pdf. Students should contact the Library’s Digital Services Department at etheses@scranton.edu if they require the use of an alternative file format or submission method.
      4. 4. One Electronic Theses Approval Form, filled out and signed by the student.

The forms and paper thesis should be placed in a large envelope labeled with the student’s name. Students can submit materials by:

      a. Dropping them off in person at the Weinberg Memorial Library Circulation Desk; or
      b. Mailing all materials to:
Weinberg Memorial Library (Attn: Digital Services Department)
           The University of Scranton
           Scranton, PA 18510

Once all materials have been received, the Weinberg Memorial Library will forward one copy of the student's signed thesis approval form to the College of Continuing and Graduate Education as confirmation of successful thesis submission. The Library will also send the student confirmation of receipt via email.

  • Alumni
    • The University of Scranton Weinberg Memorial Library is currently building a digital collection of Electronic Masters and Honors Theses. Theses from previous years (2008 and prior) will be digitized from the Library's print copies. With the permission of their respective authors, the digital theses will be available to the public in the near future.

In order to include your thesis in the Library's Electronic Masters and Honors Theses Collection, please fill out the Library's Electronic Theses Approval Form and mail it to the Library at:

Weinberg Memorial Library (Attn: Digital Services Department)
      The University of Scranton
      Scranton, PA 18510

Once we have received your permission form, we will digitize your thesis and include it in the collection under the terms you specify.

Any questions about including your thesis in our digital collections may be directed to etheses@scranton.edu.
