By DAMIAN FISCHER
Aquinas Staff Writer
The College of Health
Education and Human

University plans to begin construction
of a new building in the

need of instruction space, as well
as more modern equipment.
"The whole building is geared
toward education and technology,"
said James Pallante, dean of
CHEHR.
According to Pallante, the
building will be equipped with
several new labs as well as
equipment which is instrumental
to the continued success of the
University's education, health,
and nursing departments into the
new millennium. Some of the
equipment will be media-based
as the building will house several

The building will not, ho'wevcr,
be restricted to the use of the
education department, as the
nursing department will use the
interactive computers which will
find homes in several labs. The
building will also be equipped
with an "up and down" link television,
which will allow all students
in CHEHR to experience
environments and teaching
styles of other Universities.
The building will also accommodate
the CHEHR advising
center and several new faculty

education department is particularly
excited about the new facility
because it supplies the
department with much needed

"necessary to prepare teachers,"
said David Wiley, chair of the
education department.
According to Wiley, there
have been several complaints
about the lack of space since the
department was moved from St.
