According to Gonzalez, renovation

not onlY'be expensive but'it would
compromise the architecture of the
building, he said.
The ~ew building will cover an
area of approximately 26,000 feet
and provide areas for office space,
dining, kitchen and living facilities,
as well as private living quarters for
the residents, Gonzalez explained. -
Plans for the new building have '
been designed by the architectural

made the plans for the new

to Rev. Charles Gonzalez, S.J., rector
of the Jesuit community.
The new building, which will cost
between $1.7 and $2 million to
construct, will provide the Jesuits
with a greater amount of -living and
working.'space, he added. .
The project will be funded by the
Jesuits' own resources, Gonzalez
added.
After a great deal ofdisClission
and planning it was decided that a:
new residence was needed.
The new residence will be located
adjacent to Scranton Hall on the
area presently occupied by a tennis
court, Gonzalez said. This sight and
the designs were recently approved
by the Board of Trustees, he added.
