Chriton, June 17, 1864
J.H. Scranton, Esq.
Dear Sir,
I send deed as
requested; let it be executed
[unclear] and at New York it can
be determined whether it
shall be delivered. I shall
try to be there next Thursday,
June 23rd, though it is rather
doubtful.
Mr. [unclear] is very
anxious to go to work on the
[unclear] Co. and wishes my
[unclear] to do so; I say to
him I have none to give ex
-cept as you return the con
-tract executed, or give me
further instruction respec
-ting the matter.
If I am at N.Y. next
week, you can then say
what shall be done.
Yours truly,
O.J. Williams
P.S. I should have mentioned
receipt of your two letters, one
respecting Mr. Elliot's deed and
the other enclosing [unclear]
from Mr. S. T. Scranton.
