Charles Dutton Esq Supt
Dr Sir
I owe you an apology for so long delaying to write to you & send you the template for rails as I promised. I have been so much from home & have had so much on my hands that it escaped my mind when at home to attend to it.
I now enclose 2 drawings the rolls of which are in use & in good order. Our other lighter patterns are not in order now & we cannot well bring them out & prepare them for a small order. You can select either of the enclosed and inform us which you prefer. Your iron is nearly all here. I regret to inform you that we had an accident to our mill a few days since which will delay us some 10 or 12 days yet to repair. The first time in many months that we have been delayd from anything of this kind. If therefore we do not get your iron rolled in time to get to Cayuga before the lake freezes we must arrange to send it to Canandaigua if you wish. We will do the best we can in the matter. I enclose a duplicate of rail pattern which please send to Mr. Wilkinson. I do not hear whether he intends to send any iron or not this fall.
Very Truly yours
Geo W. Scranton
