Librarians to Meet

Librarians "from the nine-
county Northeast Chapter of
Pennsylvania Library Association will meet Saturday at the
Wilkes College Center for the
Performing Arts.
Mrs. J. Arlington Reese, Keystone Junior College, La Plume,
will assume the office of president. She is currently serving
as vice president. Miss Mary
Jane Donnelly, King's College
Library, is the retiring president.
Guest speaker at the morning
meeting will be Miss Velma Lin-
ford, special assistant to the
Associate Director of VISTA,
who will address the group on
"Library and VISTA—Discovery, Discussion, Decision and
Change." Prior to joining VISTA, Miss Linford was educational consultant to the Department
of Defense and the Extension
Service of the U.S. Department
of Agriculture.
The afternoon speaker Dr.
Willard Allison Heaps, noted author and lecturer, will speak on
"The Perils and Pleasures of
Authorship." A former instructor at the Columbia University
School of Library Service, Mr.
Heaps has also served as librarian of UNESCO in Paris
and at the UN Headquarters
Library in New York.
Mrs. Nada Vujica, librarian
at Wilkes College, is hostess for
the spring meeting. Other officers of the chapter are Joseph
Luksic, College Misericordia,
secretary-treasurer, and Miss
Margaret Mary Fischer, King's
College, public relations chairman.
